Artist Suites @ Gordons Bay
There are 3 Self-catering suites that form part of a mountainside residency established in the 1980s based in Gordons Bay, still an original, quaint and charming village of the Western Cape, South Africa. We are located just beyond the old harbour and above the scenic Clarence Drive that meanders and hugs the coastline all the way to Rooi Els.
Uninterrupted views across False Bay culminate in the Amphitheatre of the Helderberg Mountain range and expand over the Strand across to Simonstown with magnificent sunsets viewed over the majestic Table Mountain.
Sit on the balconies, or on the poolside deck and soak it all in, enjoying the variety of activities in the bay from seals splashing around to dolphins parading in their droves. During the winter months, the Southern Right whales visit our Bay and can be seen breaching and birthing. Enjoy endless spectacular sunsets over the bay and Table Mountain as a backdrop to the horizon.
The Suites have separate entrances, on either side of the main house and offer complete privacy. Enjoy the terraced garden and share the garden pool with its infinity views over the bay. The Suites are equipped for self-catering, and braai facilities are available and are dependent on wind conditions.

Take a relaxing walk along the Danie Malan Hiking Trail etched along the mountainside, which is found at the foot of Protea Drive (same road as the property). Enjoy beautiful protea bushes and indigenous flora, perhaps get a glimpse of the Klipspringers and birds soaring above the mountain. From the mountainside, enjoy the best views over the entire town, harbour and bay while watching the sun slip behind the indigo-colored Table Mountain range.
The property is fully fenced, providing security for peace of mind and a relaxing stay. There is outdoor parking at the front of the property.

Sugarbird Suite

The Sugarbird Suite is the original unit and is a comfortable size for 2 adults, with a king-size bed, small couch, TV & Free WIFI and air-conditioner. There is an en-suite shower, toilet& bidet, and separate kitchenette. Glass sliding doors open the unit onto a cozy balcony overlooking the garden pool. Quietly private with panoramic views over False Bay.
A Weber is available for use, only in suitable weather conditions.
There is a lovely swimming pool that is shared by all guests.
Skye Suite
The Skye Suite is a modern, open-plan unit with a king-size bed, large bath, walk-in shower, and a private toilet with bidet spray. Sliding glass doors lead to a sea-facing balcony with panoramic views over False Bay, Table Mountain, and breathtaking sunsets. A second balcony overlooks the mountainside and garden entrance.
Positioned at the top of the property for direct access from the gate (no stairs), the suite offers superb privacy and elegance. Guests enjoy free unlimited WiFi, a smart TV with streaming options, and a mini kitchen equipped with an air fryer, microwave, toaster, and coffee plunger, perfect for light self-catering.
Daily cleaning is available on request. All guests have access to the shared swimming pool.
Please note: No braai facilities are available for this suite.

Whale Watchers Suite

The Whalewatcher Suite is an open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchenette with a separate shower & toilet, and has a king-size bed and 2-seater couch. The unit is fitted with air conditioning and a large ceiling fan.
Double doors open the unit out onto a spectacular large lounging wooden deck with a built-in braai, overlooking the small garden forest below and panoramic views over False Bay with Table Mountain on the horizon as well as the magnificent mountain range behind the property.
The open plan kitchenette is fitted with a microwave, Induction 1-plate cooker, air fryer, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery, fridge.
Guests can use the swimming pool, which is shared by all.

- Cancellation less than 7 days, forfeit full deposit
- Cancellation 7-14 days, forfeit 50% of the deposit
- Cancellation 15 days + R300 admin fee is applicable and will be retained
- Non Arrivals forfeit the full cost

Visitors of our guests are welcome to visit but are not permitted to stay over without prior consent.

Loadshedding is scheduled power cuts that affect areas for a couple of hours. The power will return.
We are working on getting a solar-powered inverter installed on the suites.
Your Host will inform you of the Loadshedding Time slots during your stay.
